Randy's story

I discovered I have the HCV by taking a blood test.At the time my liver enzymes were one and a half million. I'm not really sure exactly how I contracted it but it could have been through drugs when I was a teenager. I was feeling very fatigued from the HCV until I changed my diet.

Sometimes I hurt from the imflamation in my liver but nothing to bad. I have not really told anybody about my HCV.My parents are older and I don't really want them worried. Friends are stand offish when they don't understand things. So I pretty much keep it to myself and my wife. The doctors want to do a liver biopsy but I took the fibrosure instead. They also wanted me to start interferon but I am not to impressed with the results I have heard from different sources.

Right now I have gone totally on a vegetarian diet and low fat. I try to keep only fruit, vegetables and brown rice and nuts for food source. This seems to give me a lot of energy. I have ordered Maximum milk thistle and liv 52 but have not started taking them yet. I just finished a cat scan for further testing. I was in the service so I can do this through the VA hospital. I do take vitamins to help with any lack at all.

So I continue to pray and ask God to help me each day. I want to live my years with my wife and for us to grow old together. I am 50 right now and I am very much in love with my wife. So if you have an extra prayer maybe you can send it this way. I pray that God will help all of you out there who are suffering. God bless you….
